Innovation in Undergraduate Advising Microgrants

Recognizing the critical and documented link between quality academic advising, student success, and life-transformative learning, the Office of Undergraduate Advising is proud to offer one-time microgrants to support the development and growth of innovative, scalable, and collaborative advising and mentoring programs, projects, and initiatives to support our undergraduate students and their multifaceted needs.
Priorities:
Drawing from current institutional and undergraduate advising priorities, we especially encourage projects, programs, tools, and initiatives that promote any of the following areas:
- Support and retention of underrepresented students at UConn
- Innovative or new-to-UConn advising practices (an opportunity to try something different or new)
- Expansion or scaling of existing advising programs with data-driven evidence of efficacy
- Welcoming a supportive culture of diversity, encouraging participation, and centering collaboration across campus
- Fostering of meaningful relationships and supportive and effective advising and mentoring
- Building capacity within our undergraduate advising community
- Growing the unique skills of professional staff and/or faculty advisors
Eligibility:
- Primary applicants must work in an undergraduate academic advising capacity at any UConn campus (e.g., faculty advisor; staff academic advisor) and must have the support of their school/college/regional campus advising director and/or direct supervisor.
- Grants of up to $5000 will be awarded on a rolling basis, beginning September 15, 2023.
- Applications will be accepted until funds have been expended.
