Innovation in Undergraduate Advising Microgrants

Priorities:

Drawing from UConn’s Strategic Plan as well as current undergraduate advising priorities, we particularly encourage projects, programs, tools, and initiatives that promote any of the following areas:

  • Strengthening Student Success: Providing culturally competent, sustained advising, helping students to successfully navigate their academic and career pathways
  • Promoting Retention and Graduation: Delivering effective, holistic supports that foster retention and encourage the timely graduation of UConn undergraduates
  • Piloting New Practices and Programs: Implementing innovative, creative, and new-to-UConn advising practices
  • Scaling Proven Programs: Expanding or replicating existing advising initiatives backed by data-driven evidence of their success so far
  • Fostering Campuswide Collaboration: Centering collaboration across departments, programs, and campus partners to build a cohesive network of support for undergraduate students
  • Building Advising Capacity: Strengthening resources, advisor support, and connections within UConn’s undergraduate advising community
  • Advancing Advisor Expertise: Supporting the ongoing professional growth of both staff and faculty advisors, cultivating skills that support student success
